We announce the death of Matthew Allen Bell (Ankeny, Iowa), who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 55. Matthew will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Noah; and his grandparents, Al, Rhea Bell, John and Evelyn Houston.
He is survived by: his daughter Anna Bell; his parents, William Bell (Allen) and Elsie Bell; his siblings, Deborah Hartmann (Ron), Cathy Kunisch (John), Al Bell (Sheila) and Christopher Bell (Staci); and his former wife Rachel Bell. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews; nine grandnieces and grandnephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W 1st St, Ankeny, IA 50023). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clarke High School Athletic Booster Club.
