Patric will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Patric by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Patric is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Patric’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his uncle Kent Kotscher; and his father Donald Nelson, Jr. (Pat). He is survived by: his mother Kimberly Nelson (Kotscher) of Evansdale; his son Nick Nelson of Ames; his brother Sam Nelson of West Pueblo, CO; his nephew Donovyn Nelson; and his cousin Krystle Peters (Josh). He is also survived by children; and several aunts and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and at 6:00 PM at the Locke (1519 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50702).
