He was predeceased by: his parents, Gayland Hamann and Leila Hamann (Hesse); his stepfather Bob; and his in-laws, Lorrie and Byron Kruse.

He is survived by: his wife Roxie Hamann of Anthon, IA; his son Kiel Hamann of Anthon, IA; his foster daughter Tadhg McClendon (Matt) of Hinton, IA; his granddaughters, Claire and Ruby; and his siblings, Kathy Christiansen (Craig) of Omaha, NE, Patty Fox (Eddie) of Phoenix, AZ, Lyndon Hamann of Sioux City, IA and Clinton Hamann (David) of Austin, TX. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
