He is survived by: his wife Joan Troe; his daughters, Tiffany Burk (Randy) and Ainsley Brungardt (Kurt); his grandchildren, Gabriella, Grace, Rylee Burk, Jordan Brungardt, Alec Beymer (Blake) and Peyton LaJuett (David); his great grandchildren, Addy and Emmy Beymer; his daughter April Schrage (Ryan); his grandchildren, Rylie, Reygan and Zach Lindaman (Emily); his great grandchildren, Willa and Kendyl; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Heronimus (Gary), Shiela Luiken (Jim), Peggy Stahl (Curt), Jill Konken (Randy) and Darcy Gage. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

After slowing down due to the pandemic and his cancer, he would still gather for coffee and conversation with friends.
