He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Reints and Dena Reints (Williams); his sisters, Shirley Patro and Dianna Yarcho; and his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Reints and Venice Fasse.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene of Aplington; his sons, Robert Reints (Pam) of Orange City and Daniel Reints (Katie) of Parkersburg; his grandchildren, Rebecca Reyes (Nelson), Rachel Chamness (Matthew), Abigail Van Bruggen (Samuel), Jacob Reints, Henry Reints and Samuel Reints; and his siblings, Elmer Reints (Beverly) of Shell Rock, Gordon Reints of Suisun City, Beverly Fails (Jim) of Ottumwa, Kevin Reints (Vicky) of Bristow, Lorraine Holland (Vern) of Clarksville, Joyce Bausman (Bob) of Parkersburg and Rodney Reints (Lori) of Parkersburg. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
