He was predeceased by: his parents, William Keninger and Caroline Keninger (Hatting); his wife Dortena Mae VanderPol; his brothers, John and Vince; his nephew Robert "Bobby" Keninger; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy VanderPol and Robert VanderPol.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Roder (Ken) of Ashton, IA, Karen Keninger of Gilmore City, IA, Leon Keninger of Ashton, IA and Joyce Swets (Scott) of Sheldon, IA; his grandchildren, Samantha Kinzebach (Jesse), Jennifer Roder, Kimberlin Roder and Michael Keninger; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Schuett of Sheldon, IA, Lois Keninger of Sibley, IA, Janice Wolterstorff (Bill), Carolyn VanderPol, Esther VanderPol, Charles VanderPol (Pearl) and Gary VanderPol (Lisa). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
