He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Schuler and Evelyn Schuler (Cocklin); and his son Rodney. He is survived by : his wife Verna Bishop of Red Oak; and his children, Roger, Reggie Schuler (Jean) of Griswold, Rhonda Hayward (Steve) of Joplin, MO and Michelle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and will be given to various charities of Dorland's wishes.
