He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver "Bud" Johnson and LaDeane Johnson (Christensen); his wife Connie Johnson (Wede); his brother Jerry Johnson; and his in-laws, William and Betty Wede.
He is survived by: his children, Julie Huegerich (Mike) of Exira, Nick Johnson (Sara) of Rockwell, Katie Johnson (Jason Frederiksen) of Marne and Jacob Johnson of Exira; his grandchildren, Kelli Nielson (Lorenzo Keahey) of Ankeny, Katie West (Cody Rush) of Onawa, McKenna Wardrip (Gina Vollstedt) of Manning, Hunter Westby, Colson Johnson, Libby Johnson of Rockwell, Dasia Baxter, Logan Frederiksen, Jorja Frederiksen of Marne, Hunter Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson of Exira; and his sisters, Penny Nelsen of Exira and Peggy Van Denberg (Scott) of Pella. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 106 N Jefferson St, Exira, IA 50076. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the Exira Cemetery. A reception will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at 106 N Jefferson St, Exira, IA 50076.
Memorials can be made in his name and will be designated at a later date.
