He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Arnold Schwab and Mildred Marie Schwab (Lauridsen); his sister Carol Kramer; his nephew Michael Elsberry; and his in-laws, Virgil, Sally Elsberry, Wayne Elsberry, Kelly, Barbara Kallesen and Maggie Elsberry.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Ann Elsberry; his sons, John Schwab (Kristin Niklawski), Robert "Bob" Schwab (Cindy) and David Schwab (Betsy); his grandchildren, Bryn Giammanco (Michael), Brandt Schwab, Amanda Harter (Preston), Wayne Schwab, Tabitha Crawley (James), Tyler Schwab, Molly Day (Morgan), Mason McFadden, Ethan Schwab and Jacob Schwab; and his in-laws, Al, Sherry Kramer, Eleanor Elsberry, Merle Elsberry, Leah Peters, Bud and Mary Korver. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (811 Oak St, Atlantic, IA 50022). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the Schwab Family to be designated at a later date in Larry's memory.
