We are sad to announce that on September 16, 2025, Richard Nelsen of Atlantic, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothea Phyllis Nelsen (Rasmussen) and Folmer Nelsen (Pete); his son Adam Nelsen; his brother Raymond Nelsen; his grandparents, Nels, Katherine Nelsen, Frank and Eva Rasmussen; and his parents-in-law, Glenn and Annie Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Glennda Nelsen; his daughters, Holly Hermann (Gary) of Alexandria, VA and April Hansen (Jonathan) of Anita, IA; his grandchildren, Hannah Hermann, Estelle Hermann, Alexandrea Schwanke (Garrett), Cole McAfee (Jessica), Paige McAfee, Peter McAfee, Sawyer Hansen (Kayleen), Kassidy Hansen and Grace McAfee (Tyler); his great grandchildren, Harlow Schwanke, Oliver, Hazel Hansen, Miles and Kinsley McAfee; and his siblings, Margaret Heath (Mick) and Bob Nelsen (Cheryl). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
