It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Lee Stearns (Audubon, Iowa), born in Carroll, Iowa, who passed away on October 15, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell "Pete" Wilbur and Thelma Lowene Stearns (Sunberg); his sons, Gary Alan Stearns and Jeffrey Scott Stearns; and his brother Wade Stearns.

He is survived by : his former life partner Janice Irene McCool; his son Craig Russell (Dondee Stearns) of Liberty, Missouri; his wife Marlene Stearns of Audubon, Iowa; his grandchildren, Brooke Stearns and Brady Stearns of Liberty; his stepdaughters, Crystal (Chris Smith) of Georgetown, Texas, Amber Macdonald of Englewood, Florida and Heather Macdonald of Englewood, Florida; his stepgrandchildren, Zack Van Haaften of Pella, Iowa, Barry (Kelsie Van Haaften) of Pella, Iowa, Gretta Smith of Georgetown, Texas, Gabe Smith of Huntsville, Texas, Cheyenne Johnson of Englewood, Florida and Dakota Johnson of Englewood, Florida; and his stepgreat-granddaughters, Addison of Pella, Iowa, Emmalea of Pella, Iowa and Everlea Van Haaften of Pella, Iowa. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
