He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Marvin Gust and Winifred May Moore; his wife Judy; and his brothers, Roy and Ray Gust.
He is survived by: his great grandchild Bob; his children, Julieanne Knutsen, Maridee Bohlmann (Shawn), Janelle Goodrich (Scott) and Jeanette Cuppy (Brian); his brother Dale Gust (Sheryl); and his grandchildren, Michael Todd Cooley, Robert Ray Cooley, Tanner Knutsen, Taylor Castaneda (Knutsen), Morgan Christensen (Gust), Aaron Gust, Travis Strasser, Trenton Strasser, McKenzie Pudenz (Bohlmann), Matthew Goodrich, Zachary Goodrich, Rebecca Mumford (Cuppy), Jacob Cuppy and Benjamin Cuppy. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (116 E Division St, Audubon, IA 50025). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St Patrick Parish Center (116 E Division St, Audubon, IA 50025). A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Arlington Heights Cemetery.
