He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Rihner and Ila Rihner (Jones); his wife Rosemary Jean Estes; his brother Richard; and his daughter-in-law Lynne.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Rihner of Shelby, Iowa and Brian (Tamara Rihner) of Hampton, Iowa. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the United Church of Avoca (304 N Elm St, Avoca, IA 51521).
