He is survived by: his family, Persia, Grant and Lotus Sidebottom (Osbahr); his siblings, Lois Gile, Maynard Sidebottom and Donna Criss; his grandson Scott Gailen Maurer; his great grandchild Emerson Faith Schulte; his wife LaVonne Petersen of Harlan, IA; his daughters, Debbie LaTourette of Harlan, IA, Diane Lascot (Jean) of Harlan, IA and Lori Maurer (Lafe) of Avoca, IA; his grandchildren, Jessica Herring (Jim), Eric Kloewer, Adam Kloewer (Alana), Kevin Lascot (Courtney), Erin Seymour (Trevor), Drew Lascot, Jacob Maurer (Kendra), Lesa Schulte (Jarett) and Brandon Maurer (Amber); Marlin Sidebottom of Council Bluffs, IA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM and at 2:00 PM.
