She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Lenning and Patsy Lenning (Frost); her former husband Kent Goates; her son Cory Douglas Goates; her son-in-law Mickey Buchanan; and her sister-in-law Rita Lenning.

She is survived by: her children, Candice Marie Buchanan of Connelly Springs, NC and Walker Ryan Goates (Heidi Miller) of Meservey, Iowa; her grandchildren, Mikayla, Kori, Carter Buchanan, Ava, Aubri Goates, Kyra, Kymber and Kamryn Miller; her siblings, Deb Govern (Ray) of Bancroft, David Lenning (Toni), Charles Lenning of Goldfield, Pat Lenning (Rhonda) of Mason City and Edwin Lenning (Tricia) of Woolstock, Iowa; and her stepmother Diane Lenning of Pomeroy.
