He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Smith and Arlene Smith (VanHouten); his wife Beverly Birkenholtz; his brothers, Leroy Smith (Gloria) and Bob Smith (Ardyce); and his grandson Brenton Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Scott Smith (Barb) of Baxter and Randy Smith (Stacie) of Newton; his grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Brandon Smith, Amber Davis (Ryan) and Alexis Smith (Michael Gallagher); his great grandchildren, Adelyn and Rylan; and his brother Charles Smith (Barb) of Newton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (314 E 2nd St N, Newton, IA 50208). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
