He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Heying (Geling) and Hugo Heying; and his siblings, Mary Lou, Christopher and Keith.
He is survived by: his son James of Decorah, Iowa; and his siblings, Marlene Messmer (Jim) of Rochester, Kevin Heying of Meza, Arizona, Cynthia Schaaf (Stan) of Villisca, Elaine Mracek (Steven) of Bradenton and Glenda Heying of Ft. Atkinson, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (420 E Main St, Ossian, IA 52161). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
