He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem Kutsch and Clara Kutsch (Neises); his siblings, Harold Kutsch (Vivian), Walter Kutsch (Marie), Francis Kutsch (Delilah), Richard Kutsch (Lorraine), Clara Kubitz (Henry) and Bernice Niensteadt (Justin); his granddaughter Dawn Kalmes; and his son-in-law Darrell Nemmers.
He is survived by: his wife Addie of John's Catholic Church; his children, Diane Kalmes (Darrell), Carol Udelhofen (Richard), Doris Ernst (Marty), Rose Schilling (Brad) and Kevin "Chip" Kutsch (MaryAnn); and his grandchildren, Chad Kalmes (Lily), Jennifer Michels (Russell), Joseph Ernst (Lisa), Tammy Harms (Steven), Christopher Ernst (Kati), Jason Noonan (Jennifer) and Dylan Kutsch (Season). He is also survived by great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service (100 N 6th St, Bellevue, IA 52031). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Donatus Catholic Church (97 E 1st St, St Donatus, IA 52071).
A memorial fund has been established in Bernard's memory.
