He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gerardy and Evelyn Gerardy (Junk); his daughter Mary Ann Gerardy; his grandson Travis Gerardy; his siblings, Roger Gerardy (Lois), John Gerardy, David Gerardy and Shirley Fuegen (Gerald); and his brothers-in-law, Lloyd Ruff, Virgil Jackson and Joseph Michels.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Gerardy of Joseph's Catholic Church; his children, Vincent Gerardy (Patti), Sharon Michel (Deacon Greg), Cletus Gerardy (Joy), Tom Gerardy (Diana), Dennis Gerardy (Elaine), Jim Gerardy (Deb), Dave Gerardy (Tere) and Rich Gerardy (Renee); and his in-laws, Lorraine Ruff, Janice Jackson, Betty Michels and Rosina Gerardy. He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 9:30 AM, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (105 E Main, Springbrook, IA 52075). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Sts. Pete & Paul Catholic Church (105 E Main, Springbrook, IA 52075).
A memorial fund has been established in Gene's memory.
