He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schroeder and Florence Schroeder (Wiltgen); his wife Janet "Muffin" Daniels (Scholtes); his sons, Glenn Daniels and David "Wahoo" Daniels; his great grandchild Krayton Huling; his siblings, Donald Schroeder, Robert Schroeder and Norma Jean Ernst (Arthur); and his in-laws, Lorin Scholtes, Leonard Scholtes (Becky), Gene Scholtes, Donald Scheckel, LaVonne Kueter (Ronald) and Roger "Shiney" Scholtes (Shirley).

He is survived by: his children, Jeff Schroeder, Jim Schroeder (Lora), Dennis "Bud" Schroeder (Jeanette), Steve Schroeder (Carol), Ann Schroeder (Pat) and Cindy Payne (Doug); and his in-laws, Joanne Schroeder, Louann Scheckel and Betty Scholtes. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established in Gerald's memory.
