She was predeceased by: her parents, Lavern Keil and Shirley Keil (Friels); her husband Wayne R. Scheckel; her sisters, Jane Weinschenk (Donald Scheckel), Judy Scheckel, Mary Ellen Scheckel (Steven Scheckel) and Carol Scheckel; and her granddaughter Miranda Marie Scheckel.
She is survived by: her children, Marty Scheckel (Christina), Amy Kucera (Doug), Scotty Scheckel (Lora) and Melissa Byers (Todd); her grandchildren, Brittany Rausch (Kyle), Kaitlin Schares (Kyle), Emily Hingtgen (Ben), Allison Nachtman (Cody), Kyle Scheckel (Megan), Alyssa Davis (Justin Roling), Eliza Scheckel (Karter), Keily Lee (Cooper), Adrian Scheckel (Keith Busch), Wyatt Scheckel, Sydnee Davis (Gentry Owen) and Kallie Scheckel; her great grandchildren, Gunner Hingtgen, Witten Rausch, Anistyn Rausch, Kynnedi Busch, Callen Scheckel, Thea Nachtman, Breck Nachtman, Beau Roling and Henry Roling; and her sister Jill Ruggeberg (John). She is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (300 S 3rd St, Bellevue, IA 52031).
A memorial fund has been established in Julie's memory.
