He is survived by: his parents, Eldon Schmidt and Valerie Schmidt (Roling); his children, Cole Schmidt of Bellevue and Courtney Shadix (John Ryley) of Stephenville, Texas; and his siblings, Terry Schmidt (Adrianne) of Maryland, Darren Schmidt (Sara) of Sabula, Jason Schmidt (Steph) of Sabula, Eric Schmidt of Dubuque, Jeff Schmidt (Natasha) of Bellevue, Nicole Schmidt of Dubuque, Brandon Schmidt of Bellevue and Christopher Schmidt (Kaitlin) of Bellevue. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service (100 N 6th St, Bellevue, IA 52031). A prayer was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
