He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cloos and Kathleen Cloos (Gonner); his grandparents, Peter, Viola Cloos, George and Alverda Gonner; his sister Margaret "Peg" Mueller; and his brothers-in-law, Donald Reuter and Leo Casey.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Reuter; his daughters, Lisa Schmidt (Steve), Julie Muenster (Mike), Melissa Harvey (Mike) and Emily Cloos; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Issac, Sam Schmidt, Anna Paffrath (Joe), Morgan, Lucas, Molly Muenster, Quinton, Cora and Nolan Harvey; his siblings, Steve Cloos (Colleen), Mark Cloos (Marlene), Patrick Cloos (Shirley), Robert Cloos, Barb Lundin (Kenny) and Rick Cloos; and his in-laws, Darlene Reuter, Eleanor Casey, Gean Burken, Darlene Ketelsen (Dale), Judy Martin (Tim), Terry Reuter (Bonnie) and Ed Reuter (Carol).
Visitation was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service (100 N 6th St, Bellevue, IA 52031). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (405 Franklin St, Bellevue, IA 52031).
Memorials may be directed to The Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of Dubuque, and Marquette Catholic Schools in Tom's memory.
