He was predeceased by : his mother Mary Leden; his sister Cindy; his brother-in-law Ron Alms; and his father-in-law Merrill Blackburn. He is survived by : his wife Rev. Leila Blackburn of Belmond, IA; his daughter Sarah Scherger (Caleb); his brothers, Gregory Leden (Margo) of Rockford, IL. and William Leden (Karen) of Poplar Grove, IL; and his mother-in-law Betty Blackburn. He is also survived by eight nephews, five great-nephews and nine great-nieces.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Belmond United Methodist Church (1031 1st St SE, Belmond, IA 50421). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
