We are sad to announce that on April 12, 2024, at the age of 60, Joel Thompson of Belmond, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Dale Thompson and Priscilla Thompson (Sherburne); and his brothers, Davis and Brian Thompson. He is survived by : his wife Janet Thompson of Belmond; his children, Kristen Moon (Rick) of Eden Prairie, MN, Kayla Richards (Derek) of Waukee, IA and Lynnette Borsheim (Rory) of Decorah, IA; his grandchildren, Dahlynne, Blake Borsheim and Remi Richards; and his sisters-in-law, Deb Roske and Dawn Erickson (Junior). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (604 W Broadway St, Decorah, IA 52101).
