We are sad to announce that, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 87, Mary Johnson of Belmond, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Walter Carlson and Solveig Carlson; her sister Diane Schroeder; and her sister-in-law Claudette Carlson. She is survived by: her husband William R. Johnson (Bill); her daughters, Susan Weigenant (Mark) of Hager City, WI, Melanie Steinkamp (Todd) of Carroll, IA and Sally Manzano (Manny) of Golden Valley, MN; her grandchildren, Emily Welsch Meece (Quinton), Garrett Welsch, Oliver Schindler and Zoe Schindler; and her brother Walter Carlson. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, the Belmond-Klemme Scholarship Foundation II, or the charity/organization of your choice.
