With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Donald McKenna of Bernard, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 15, 2025 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to James' earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration James has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald McKenna and Rosemary McKenna (Olinger); his sister-in-law Marsha McKenna; and his former wife Tracy. He is survived by: his daughter Heather Casey (Matt); his grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner and Peyton Casey; and his siblings, Dick McKenna of Zwingle, John McKenna (Kim) of Marion and Kathleen Aureden (Kenny) of Zwingle.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church (17486 Bellevue-Cascade Rd, Zwingle, IA 52079).
