He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Edward and Edna Kathrine Mooney Sr. (Claussen); his brothers, Paul Edward Mooney Jr. and Kenneth Jon Mooney; his brother-in-law Bob Burris; his nieces, Kathi Smith, Penny Skinner and Wendy Boyer; and his nephew Evan Gettert.

He is survived by: his children, Jessica Mooney, Abby Hahn and Rory David Harter; his grandchildren, Mason Hunt, Jonathan Ramsey and Willow Ramsey; his siblings, Georgia Lee Burris, Patricia Ann Brown (Stan), Pamela Jo Gettert (Charles) and Terry Allen Mooney (Jan); and his sister-in-law Monie Mooney. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
