James leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. James’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew James will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Ernest and Vera (Trusty) Stachour; wife: Phyllis Hensch; daughters: Nancy (John) Ulrich and Catherine (Calvin) Moss; grandchildren: Margaret (Justin) Brown, Emily (Michael) Johnston, Annmarie (Nathan) Melchert, and Jack (Amanda) Moss; great-grandchildren: Grace Olivia Johnston, Kara Joy Johnston, Myles Anthony Brown, Cameron Michael Brown, Andrew James Melchert, and Henry James Moss; sister: Judith Braucht; special niece: Marcy Braucht; in-laws: Doug (Carole) Hensch, Lesa (Dan) Kruger, Dan (Sandra) Hensch, and Paul Hensch.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fulton Presbyterian Church (311 9th St, Fulton, IL 61252). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials can be made to the Fulton Presbyterian Church or to Morningside University.
