He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Loose and Doris Loose (Craig); his wife Jean M. Hoglund; his brother Elvert Loose; and his brother-in-law Lou Anderson.

He is survived by: his children, Christine Loose of Santa Cruz, Bryan Loose of Counce, Catherine Loose of Savannah and Bonnie Moore of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Kailey Hare (Poncho) of Bettendorf, Autumn Loose of Los Angeles, Samantha Loose of Tuscaloosa and Benjamin Moore of Bettendorf; his great grandchild Emma Hare; his sister Joyce Anderson of Moline; and his sister-in-law Sue Loose.

Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Leon's memory.
