She was predeceased by: her father Charles Usselton; her husband Dick Paplinski; her brother-in-law William E. Paplinski; and her nephew Aaron Paplinski. She is survived by: her mother Maree Usselton (Biddle); her daughters, Leslie A. Hesterman (Tim) of Oak Park and Vicki L. Bert (Jeff) of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Nathan Hesterman, Caroline Jackson (Tristan), Kate Hesterman, Alex Bert, Eric Bert (Carley Berneking), Olivia Bert and Amanda Bert; her great grandchildren, Teddy Hesterman, Emilia Jackson and Nicholas Berneking; her sister-in-law Cheryl Paplinski; and her niece Ilse Paplinski (David Silvernell).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AAUW or One Eighty.
