He was predeceased by: his parents, Claire Willits and Verna Lucille Willits (Boiler); his sisters, Betty and Bonnie; his former wives, Jessie and Marilyn; and his pets, Emily, Bingo, Willy, Bubby and B. J..

He is survived by: his children, Bobbi Jo Smith (Jonathan) of Bettendorf, Beth Kimball (Mark) of Aledo, Cayleah Willits (Josh) of Bettendorf, Cheri Claus (Jon) of Davenport, Iowa, David Willits of Bettendorf, Mark Willits of Bettendorf and Rick Haessler of LeClaire; his brothers, Jim Willits (Jan) and Larry Willits (Kathy); and his brother-in-law Randy Thornbloom (Jackie) of Davenport.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Lions Club.
