He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Leonard Schulte and Nancy Schulte; his wife Cynthia Friedman; his children, Lindsey Remus and Jon Schulte (Madison); his grandchildren, Alyvia and Ayden Remus; his siblings, Jean Yerkey (Jeff), Mary DuPrey (Dan) and John Schulte (Linda); his mother-in-law Pat McGraw; his siblings-in-law, Sandy Brockman (Darrell), Susan Hartmann (Kerry), Jackie Hallman (Eric), Pam Newton (Bill) and Greg McGraw (Paul); his pet Molly; his father-in-law Lee McGraw; his brother-in-law Curt Hallman; and his niece Erin Castens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ron's name may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
