He was predeceased by: his daughter Janice Garmon; his brother Bob Speer; and his siblings-in-law, Glen Jr., Georgiana Lister and Max Rupe.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Speer of Bloomfield, Iowa; his children, Neil Speer (Sharon) of Lake, Patty Carlson of Scottsdale, Arizona and Bryan Speer of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Josh Speer, Melissa Ketch, Jennifer Jobes, Shelly Speer, Brice Chasey, Kiley Mejia, Cameron Carlson, Maggie Spilker, Gina Lindsay, Zachary Garmon and Trevor Garmon; his sister Shirley Rupe; and his sister-in-law Carol Speer. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Ioof Cemetery (620 N Madison St, Bloomfield, IA 52537).
