She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Hasting and Ruth Berry Hasting; her husband Curtis Wendell Ernst; her son-in-law Vickey (Steve Cary); her son John Ernst (Rosalee); her siblings, Marian, Myrtle, Margaret, Vanietta and Benjamin; her close friend Bob Wuthrich; Bob Wuthrich.
She is survived by: her daughter Victoria Jean Cary (Steve); her siblings, Shelly Bassett (Jeff), John Ernst (Rosalee), Joe Ernst (Dee) and Allison Wroe (Jeff); her friends, Billie Wright, Ada Petefish and Nancy Logan; her children, Shelly Bassett (Jeff) of Bloomfield, Allison Wroe (Jeff) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Joe Ernst (Dee) of Des Moines, Iowa; her nephew Elwood Ernst (Norma) of Dixon, Missouri; her niece Margaret Wilcox Schach (Ann) of West Burlington, Iowa.; Ivan Mason. She is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Sherman Chapel Cemetery in Davis County and may be left at the graveside service or mailed to: Helen Ernst Memorial, Wagler Funeral Home, 304 W. Jefferson St., Bloomfield, Iowa 52537.
