He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Hougland and Hilda Wilson Hougland; his wife Charlotte Hall; his siblings, Harold Hougland (Sally), Alfred Hougland, David Hougland, Doris Newton (Bob), Helen Fuhr (Art) and Phyllis Roe (Vern); and his siblings-in-law, DeWayne Mullinix and Marilyn Hougland.
He is survived by: his sons, Kevin Hougland (Kristi) of Bloomfield, Steven Hougland of Bloomfield and Brian Hougland of Jefferson City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Tasha Reyes of Ottumwa, Tera Hougland (Jon Cooper) of Biloxi, Kaylee Johnson (Dave Cody) of Albia, Randi Claahsen of Nebraska and Thomas Hougland of Jefferson City, Missouri; his siblings, Jerry Hougland of Pleasant Hill, Charles Hougland (Diane) of Milo, Iowa and Virginia Mullinix of Downing, Missouri; and his sister-in-law Marlene Hougland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Barker Church.
