He is survived by: his wife Joan Reding of Bode; his children, Mike Girres of Bode, Shelly Nieland (Ken) of Ankeny, Mary Lile (Jeff) of Ankeny and Chris Girres of Clemson, SC; his grandchildren, Megan, Amber, Savannah, Alex and Jax; his great grandchildren, Mae, Mylah and Brooks; and his siblings, Ron Girres (Judy), Carol Eoriatti, Ray Girres (Kathy), Rich Girres (Linda) and Monsignor Ed Girres.
