She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Ward and Irene Ward (Rambo); her husband Richard Schaper; and her brother Earl Ward. She is survived by: her sons, Dave Schaper (Becky) of Elkhart and Mark Schaper (Brenda) of Newton; her grandchildren, Lindsay Bailey (Justin) of Bondurant and Jamie Schaper of Des Moines; and her siblings, Ellen Graber (Dick) of Newton and Kay Zizzi (Ben) of Denver, Colorado..
