She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Uthe and Esther Uthe (Reichart); her husband W. Albert Smith; her son Roger; her granddaughter Laura Wuebker; and her siblings, Joseph, Daniel, Lawrence, Clarence, Margaret Colantino, Helen Mullenbach and Sister Mary Anton Uthe.
She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Walsh (Mike) of Sioux City, IA, Donna Johnson (Tom) of Boone, IA and Janet Wuebker (Wayne) of Afton, IA; her grandchildren, Bill, Steve, Brian Walsh, Jill Johnson, Michelle Elliott, Julie Fournier, Mary Jo Wuebker, Shelly Toppin, Randy Wuebker and Alex Wuebker; and her sister-in-law Elizabeth Uthe of Elma, IA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials in Mary's memory can be made to The Sacred Heart School Endowment Foundation as a tribute to her work in the education of children. Please designate memorials to the Sacred Heart School Endowment Foundation.
