She is survived by: her siblings, Sue Slattum (Craig) of Joice, IA, Jeff Sawyer of St. Paul, MN and Jay Joseph Sawyer (Carri) of Bettendorf, IA; her nieces and nephews, Katie Thielen (Luke), Jason Slattum (Alyssa), Abbey Hess (Troy), Jordan Sawyer (Kassandra) and Troy Sawyer (Ashlyn); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Haley, Hannah, Ben, Lauren, Cora, Anna, Oliver, Milo and Rio.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (915 12th St, Boone, IA 50036). A rosary was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart (915 12th St, Boone, IA 50036). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (915 12th St, Boone, IA 50036).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to either Sacred Heart School or Sacred Heart Church in memory of Sandy.
