He was predeceased by: his parents, T. Earl Tilley and Opal Tilley (Fairchild); his sisters, Norene Graham and Susan Tolan; and his brother-in-law Dave Tolan of Boone.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Carlberg of Stratford; his children, Robyn Greteman (Paul) of Carroll and Derek Tilley (Donette) of Stratford; his grandchildren, Conor, Samantha and Cooper; his siblings, Karen Richey (Nile) of Stratford and Jeff Tilley of Stratford; his siblings-in-law, Peggy Myers (Darle) of Lehigh, Jim Carlberg of Stratford and Ron Graham of Boone; and his aunt Arlys Westrum of Boone. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family for later designation.
