He is survived by: his wife Machele "Shelly" Franckowiak of Brighton, Iowa; his children, Melody Gearheart (Michael) of Grace Hill, Iowa, Amber Adkins (Caleb) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Jake Franckowiak of Kalona, Iowa, Joy Franckowiak of Kalona, Iowa, Grace Helterbran of Brighton, Iowa and Samuel "Sam" Franckowiak of Brighton, Iowa; his grandchildren, Aaron Gearheart (Melody), Aspen Gearheart, Archer Gearheart, Avalon Gearheart, Astrid Gearheart, Grayson Adkins, Jaxson Adkins, Isabella Adkins, Ariella Adkins, Blake Sassan, Iverson Stauffer and Ezekiel Helterbran; his great grandchild Dean Gearheart; his siblings, Michael Franckowiak (Deb) of Wenatchee, Washington, Steve Franckowiak (Marie) of De Pere, Wisconsin, Michelle Goethe (Brogden) of Jacksonville, Florida and Melissa Piscitelli (Phil) of Jacksonville, Florida; his mother-in-law Connie Waterhouse of Washington, Iowa; and his siblings-in-law, Dan Waterhouse (Barb) of Washington, Iowa, Lisa McGhan (Don) of La Grange and Becky Butler (Tedd) of Keota, Iowa..

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home (116 E Main St, Washington, IA 52353). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Lake Darling Lodge (111 Lake Darling Rd, Brighton, IA 52540).

In lieu of flowers, a general memorial has been established.
