He was predeceased by : his parents, Julius and Margaret. He is survived by : his wife Terri Diers of Brighton; his children, Julius "J. D." Diers (Molly Brokken) of Brighton and Dana Pelzer (Bill) of Cedarburg, WI; his grandson Jameson Diers; and his sisters, Juliana Diers of Sparks, NV, Rose Wilson of St. Simons Island, GA and Carolyn Schlicher (Dan) of Brighton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jefferson County Conservation Board or Camp Kyle.
