He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Wilbur Merriam (Virginia Merriam); his wife Colleen Merriam; his children, Angela Parcel of Minnesota, Nicole Merriam of Mason City, James "JT" Merriam (Jaime) of Britt, Katie O'Dell (Ryan) of Oklahoma and Caroline Newby (Paul) of Joice; his siblings, Kathy Eckerman (Bruce) of Cedar Rapids, Kristine Cramer (Rae) of Pennsylvania, Connie Adams (Gary) of Algona, Paulette Barry (Don) of Missouri, Cary Brown (Cathy) of Woden and Rhonda Umthun (Ken) of Eagle Grove; his close friends, Rocket and Rosie; and also, Virginia Merriam and Marlene Merriam. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his special doggie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Ewing Funeral Chapel (178 Center St W, Britt, IA 50423). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (139 3rd St SE, Britt, IA 50423).
