He is survived by: his children, Gene Lacaeyse of Grinnell, Carol Meseck (Gary) of Sioux Rapids, Carl Lacaeyse (Jocelyn) of Malcom and Dean Lacaeyse of Montezuma; his grandchildren, Kelly Eden (Don), Tim Kibbee (Kris), Joshua Lacaeyse (Julie), Andy Meseck, Bill Meseck, Justin Meseck (Darcy), Jennifer Meseck, Melissa Quiroz, Nick Lacaeyse (Allysa), Joel Lacaeyse (Jessie), Al Lacaeyse (Lauren), Cassie Minnaert (Nate) and Quincy Griffith (Laura); his great grandchildren, Sam Kibbee (Emily), Madelyn Kibbee, Max Kibbee, Delaney Lacaeyse, Damian Benson, Dexter Meseck, Isabella Meseck, Violette Meseck, Cyrus Meseck, Sofia Furhman, Parker Koch, Jeffrey Cowell, Antonio Meseck, Olivia Upton, Arianna Meseck, Jayce Meseck, Emogene Meseck, Jaden Lacaeyse, Kinze Lacaeyse, Leyton Lacaeyse, Ilee Lacaeyse, Haygen Lacaeyse, Lane Lacaeyse, Karsyn Minnaert, Karagyn Minnaert, Emersyn Minnaert and Lawson Minnaert; and his great great grandchildren, Eleanor Kibbee, Shayde Benson and Syrus Benson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (605 Jackson St, Brooklyn, IA 52211). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
