It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rebecca Rene Edelen of Brooklyn, Iowa, who passed away on May 1, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Rutherford and Velda Rutherford (Larsen); her in-laws, Keith and Evelyn Edelen; her sister-in-law Therese Anderson; and her brother David Rutherford.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Edelen of Brooklyn, IA; her children, Mike Edelen (Cally) of Bondurant, IA, Jon Edelen (Amy McAllister), Karin Edelen of Brooklyn, IA and Brian Edelen (Drea Cline) of Grinnell, IA; her grandchildren, Cameron Farmer of Idaho, Brayden, Hunter Edelen of Bondurant, IA, Pyper McAllister, Bailey McAllister, Dallas McAllister, Noah Edelen, Addie McAllister and Kaiden Forsythe of Brooklyn; her grand-animals, Charlie, Coco, Duck Norris, Scuba Steve, Gigi, Tiger, Walter and Lexi; her brothers, Steve Rutherford (Patty) of Grinnell, IA and Mark Rutherford (Vickie) of Grinnell, IA; and her in-laws, Danny Anderson of Montezuma, IA, Diane Arens (Nathan) of Brooklyn, IA, Don Edelen (Susie) of Grinnell, IA and Gene Edelen (Maria) of Cedar Rapids, IA. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and more friends.
