It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brian J. Hobbs (Buffalo Center, Iowa), who passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Lilah Hobbs (Doege); his father-in-law Curtis Bashans; and his grandparents, Herbert, Anna Doege, Alvina and Earl Hobbs.
He is survived by: his father James Hobbs of Crystal Lake; his wife Deanne Hobbs; his children, Krista Troe (Barry) of Fort Gregg-Adams, Kaylan Hobbs (Jordan Shannon) of Thompson, Kory Hobbs (Alexis) of Ames and Kade Hobbs of Forest City; his grandchildren, Lilah and Lennon Troe; his sister Lisa English (Bob) of Crystal Lake; his aunt Janice Doege; his mother-in-law Sandra Bashans; and his brother-in-law Brian Bashans.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the United Methodist Church (215 1st St NW, Buffalo Center, IA 50424). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Crystal Lake Township Cemetery (830 330th St, Britt, IA 50423).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to North Iowa Food for Families Buffalo Center or the NIHS Scholarship Fund.
