We are sad to announce that on August 25, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Joan K. James (Buffalo Center, Iowa), born in Manly, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Ryan and Izetta Ryan (Carre); her husband Dean James; her siblings, Karen Engleman (Richard) and Richard Ryan; and her brother-in-law George Cartsens.
She is survived by: her children, Amanda, Ryan, Carter, Gabe and Sherri Sperlich (Alan); her grandchildren, Shelby Faizal (Ario) and Isaac; her son Doug James (Kate); her grandchildren, Riley, Reagan and Ronan; and her siblings, Pat Arp (Ken), Madonna Cinkle (Terry), Judy Cartsens, Diane Ryan and Tom Ryan (Sharron). She is also survived by her three children and nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her family in which they will distribute to Iowa Alzheimer's Association and to Every Step Hospice, in Joan's memory.
