He was predeceased by : his parents, Ray Ruden and Eva Ruden (Kayser); his daughters, Darci and Tara Ruden; his great grandchild Nolan August; and his brother Don Ruden.

He is survived by : his wife Jo; his daughter Tami Stombaugh (Steve) of LeClaire, IA; his grandchildren, Austin Fielder (Kayla) of Davenport, Abbi Metcalf (Eric) of Davenport, Ansli August (Brandon) of Davenport, Alexa, Brady and Carson Stombaugh; his great grandchildren, Morgan, Makynlee, Maverick Fielder, Kali, Madi, Lili Davis and Isaac August; and his sister Dea Crawford (Jim) of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
