Bernice Smith Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernice Smith of Burlington, Iowa, born in Warsaw, Illinois, who passed away on August 30, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry A. Wenzel and Mary J. Glass Wenzel; her siblings, Rita Wenzel, Annamae Gibson, Kathryn Haas, Henry Wenzel and Joseph Wenzel; and her grandsons, Aaron Freitag and Eli Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Levi Ray Smith; and her children, Debbie Freitag (Ronald) of Burlington, Jerry Smith (Marda) of Burlington and Raymond Smith of Burlington. She is also survived by five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Hope Haven Area Development Center.
